Video: Craig Watkins Still Playing Politics

Democrat District Attorney Craig Watkins is making a habit of ignoring the local press and the public by refusing to answer important questions about the continuing scandal involving Democrat Constables Jaime Cortes and Derick Evans.  Just last week, the the story became more controversial, as it was reported that, for a second time, Mr. Watkins has refused to allow the State's Attorney General to conduct an independent investigation. 

Mr. Watkins's decision is curious because his office previously asked the Attorney General to investigate a Democrat constable in 2007.  How are the two scandals different?  This is one of the questions asked by The Dallas Morning News's Editorial Board.  Only Mr. Watkins can explain his decision, but he won't speak to local reporters. 

Mr. Watkins had an opportunity to answer these and other questions in a candidate debate hosted by the Schreiber Crime Watch group at W.T. White High School on Saturday, April 10th.  He confirmed his appearance several months ago, then curiously canceled without explanation two weeks ago.  When will Mr. Watkins stop ducking the public?
