Richard was born and raised in Kansas City.
After graduating from Pitt State with a BS degree Business and Marketing he accepted a management position with Sears in their regional headquarters. He gained valuable business experience working in and managing multiple departments. In 1977 Richard was promoted to the Dallas regional headquarters. He entered private business in 1980 when he and two partners founded Dallas Mustang Parts. They grew the company into a multimillion dollar business, one of the top three in its industry. In 2007 as President and Co-owner Richard sold his interest in the business.
He has a real estate license and is active in the real estate field.
Richard’s extensive corporate and private business background strong conservative values and a belief in innovation and technology, gives him the expert insight and experience needed for the office of County Treasurer.
“I have deep concerns about the direction of our country. Our priorities should be national security, a healthy economy, jobs creation, less government control, fiscal responsibility and affordable health care. Politicians are accountable to the people who elected them to office, not to special interest groups.”
Richard and his wife Rita reside in Dallas. The couple has 1 daughter Dr. Amie Lynne Meditz who graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and is a practicing physician Denver, CO.
