Chris Koustoubardis was born December 10, 1953 in Dallas and was raised in University Park. He grew up working at his father Jack’s family-owned and operated Burger House in Snider Plaza, which was established in 1951. Upon graduating from Highland Park High School in 1973, Chris attended Abilene Christian University, continued working during the week at the restaurant and in addition, acquired a weekend job at Consolidated Freightways on the loading docks. After receiving his BS in Criminology in 1978, Chris became a warehouse supervisor for Quaker Oats Company in Garland for five years and continued his education at Amber University in Dallas, where he completed his BS in Business as well as his Masters Degree in Business Administration in 1988.
In 1990, Chris decided to combine the hard work ethic instilled in him by his father with his business experience and love of politics and began pursuing a career in professional law. His first full-time job in the field was as a parole officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice at which he supervised approximately 135 parolees on his caseload. Meanwhile, Chris attended Texas Wesleyan School of Law at night and studied diligently towards his Juris Doctor law degree, which he obtained in 1995. Having accomplished this, Chris established his sole litigation practice and has since handled thousands of criminal cases.
In 2002, Chris became an Administrative Law Judge for the Texas Youth Commission where he presided over 2700 hearings throughout the entire state. During the six years in this seat, he fought hard for fair treatment of troubled juveniles under the State’s care and was seen as a fair, just and impartial protector of their rights.
Chris Koustoubardis brings to the courthouse experience, education, personality and over 50 years of Dallas history. His dedication to the community remains deeply rooted in his family values. His crowning achievement in life is being a caring, active and exemplary father to his three children, Nick (age 17), Nicole (age 14) and Michelle (12). Chris currently resides in Lake Highlands, where he has lived since 1992 and can often be seen and heard around town on his motorcycle.
