Featured Candidate - Jim Jackson
State Representative Jim Jackson (R) represents Addison, Coppell, most of the Dallas County portion of Carrollton, most of Farmers Branch, and parts of Dallas. He
serves on the House Public Education and Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committees.
Rep. Jackson's honors include:
- The Texas Association of Business named him a "Fighter For Free Enterprise" for his votes in the 79th and 81st Sessions and a "Champion For Free Enterprise" for the 80th Session;
- Texans for Lawsuit Reform (TLR) awarded him the "TLR Civil Justice Leadership Award" for his work in the 81st Session;
- Texans for Fiscal Responsibility named him a "Texas Taxpayer Hero" for the 80th Session; and
- Americans for Prosperity named Jackson a "Defender of the American Dream"
for the 79th, 80th and 81st Sessions.
On March 25, 2008, in memory of Dr. Eunice Stanfield and in honor of Rep. Jackson, the Dallas County Employee Health Center was renamed the "Jackson Stanfield Employee Health Center."
Prior to his election to the Texas House in 2004, Representative Jackson served as a Dallas County Commissioner and held numerous leadership roles. He has also
received recognition and many awards for his public service.
