Featured Candidate - John Neuhoff

John Neuhoff is a proud member of a large Dallas family and has lived in the city his entire life. John’s working life began early in high school when he loaded trucks for the family business, Neuhoff Brothers Packers.

John graduated from Jesuit High School and then attended Tulane University in New Orleans where he was active in campus organizations and a fraternity president. After graduation from Tulane Law School in 1977, he founded his own law firm.

Legal and Professional Experience

John’s legal and business career has been interesting and varied. In 1985 he became a Board Certified Family Law Specialist, a distinction he maintained for ten years until his legal practice expanded to other areas. In 1986 he created a family law boutique firm specializing in sophisticated domestic relations litigation with emphasis on valuation of complex business entities, child custody and support.

Looking for new challenges John became a mediator in 2001. In this important role he worked extensively with attorneys, insurance professionals, and litigants to facilitate settlement of a wide range of civil and family law cases. In 2004 John became Of Counsel to a commercial litigation firm in Dallas. There he supervised associate attorneys while handling a trial docket and maintaining his mediation practice.

John has written and taught a continuing legal education program on the effective representation of clients at mediation.

Over the years John has been active in real estate joint ventures and developed a fee attorney land title office processing and closing hundreds of mortgages throughout Texas. With your help he will bring 33 years of legal and business experience to the 256th District Family Court in Dallas County.

Community Involvement

John is married to Christina Beckman Neuhoff and has a stepson, Scott.

John is a director of Saint Joseph’s Residence, a senior assisted living facility in Oak Cliff. He is also an active volunteer at The Bridge Homeless Center and at Jesuit Prep where Scott attends high school.
