Featured Candidate - Deandra Grant

Deandra Grant obtained her bachelor’s degree from Trinity University in San Antonio and her Juris Doctor from SMU School of Law.  In November, 1993, she was licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Texas.

After a year as a prosecutor with the Dallas County DA’s Office, Deandra opened the Law Offices of Deandra M. Grant.  She has run a successful law firm since 1994, maintaining offices in both Plano and Dallas.

County Criminal Court No. 8 is a misdemeanor trial court which primarily handles DWI cases.  Deandra has extensive experience in all aspects of DWI trial practice.  She is the co-author of The Texas DWI Manual , which is a trial guide for Texas lawyers.  Deandra is a national speaker at legal seminars, lecturing on all aspects of DWI trial practice, strategy and science.   After a peer-nomination process, D Magazine recently named her to its list of the Best Women Lawyers in Dallas for 2010.

In addition to being one of the leaders in her field, Deandra has been an active volunteer in the Republican Party.  She has been a member of the White Rock Republican Women’s Club since 1995, serving as the club’s president twice.  She currently holds the position of Corresponding Secretary.  In addition, she has served as a delegate to both the Senatorial and State GOP conventions. 

Deandra Grant is a leader, a teacher, an author and an experienced trial lawyer.  She has the credentials needed to serve the citizens of Dallas County as an excellent judge. 

A native Texan, Deandra currently resides in East Dallas with her husband, Eric Clendenin, and her two children, Lakehill Prep 1st grader Keegan and 2 year old Rowan.
