JJ Koch
Justin Jay ("J.J.") Koch was born in New Jersey to a hardworking high school teacher and an investigator for the state's victim compensation board. Mr. Koch attended Duke University where he majored in Economics. Following his undergraduate studies he attended the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. There he met his wife, Amanda. Right after law school, Mr. Koch was among many newly licensed attorneys who joined the Small Business Administration Disaster Assistance Office (“SBA”) in Fort Worth, Texas, during the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Following his tenure at the SBA, Mr. Koch joined the Dallas County District Attorney's Office where he honed his skills as an advocate and a criminal attorney. After leaving the District Attorney's office, Mr. Koch practiced criminal defense, serving private clients and handling court-appointed work in Dallas County. Mr. Koch then was offered an opportunity to maintain his criminal practice, handle civil litigation matters and represent the members of the Dallas Fraternal Order of Police by joining the law firm of Bellinger & DeWolf, LLP. Mr. Koch is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Dallas, the North Texas Crime Commission, and is an active Mason.
