Featured Candidate - George White
George White is a lifelong resident of Dallas graduating from Highland Park High School in 1969. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts with Majors in History and Political Science and a minor in Education from Southern Methodist University he then joined the Texas National Guard. After active duty, he continued serving the country as a member of the Texas Army National Guard while attending Southern Methodist University Law School, graduating in 1975. He retired honorably from the Texas Army National Guard in 1983.
His first job after being licensed in October 1975, was for the noted family law firm of Dennis Brewer Sr. in Irving, Texas. Mr.White got extensive family law training during his 4 years as an associate in the law firm of Dennis Brewer Sr. In 1980, he chose to stay in Irving, his adopted home town, and opened his own law firm practice in family and criminal Law.
For 35 years George White has represented clients before Courts in Dallas and many other North Texas counties in the all areas of family law. George White has completed over 8000 cases since 1980. The fact that 85% of his business comes from referrals speaks to the satisfaction of his clients and the quality of his representation.
Mr. White is proud to be a member of the College of the State Bar which requires a yearly minimum of 30 hours of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) per year. Mr. White is licensed in all Texas State Courts and in the Federal Courts in Dallas, The Northern District of Texas, 5th Circuit Appellate Court, plus U.S. Court of Military Appeals and Tax Court. He has or had memberships in the Irving Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association, American Bar Association, as well as the American Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Dallas and Tarrant County Civil and Criminal Bar Association.
He has also been a substitute Justice of the Peace, a visiting Associate Family District Court Judge in Dallas, and a Judge for both the Regional and National Moot Court Competitions (training young trial lawyers). He has served as Prosecutor for the City of Grapevine, Adjunct Professor at Southeastern Paralegal Institute, President of the Irving Republican Club, and as a member of the Irving Board of Zoning Adjustment and Appeals.
