As Judge of the 204th Judicial District Court for the last 12 years, I have presided over thousands of the most serious criminal offenses that affect the citizens of Dallas County. These include Capital Murder, where the Death Penalty is sought, Murder, Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Sexual Assault, Kidnaping, Burglary, Possession of Controlled Substances, Thefts, DWI's, and occasionally Cruelty to Animals.
I am currently seeking my fourth term. My previous service and experience includes working in the Dallas County District Attorneys's Office for 13 years. As an Assistant District Attorney I prosecuted the same type of cases over which I now preside as a State District Judge. In that capacity I tried hundreds of criminal cases including 3 Capital Murder cases where I successfully obtained the Death Penalty. I also worked for a period of time as a private criminal defense attorney. I have been practicing criminal law in these various capacities for the last 26 years.
I have been endorsed by the Dallas Police Association in every previous election. I also won the Dallas General Election Poll and the Dallas Criminal Lawyers Poll over my previous opponent.( I am also endorsed as qualified by The Committee for a Qualified Judiciary.)
I am a long-time Dallas County resident married to Lissy, and have 2 sons Jason, a senior at UT Austin, and Sam a junior at Lake Highlands High School.
I attended St. Mark's School of Texas, Texas A&M University, and St. Mary's School of Law.
As a conservative, no-nonsense, tough on crime Judge, I believe I have the qualifications and experience to properly continue to serve the citizens of Dallas County and ask that you continue to show confidence in me and the job I am doing.
