Last year David Lewis was asked to return to public service to become a Deputy Special Prosecutor to investigate and prosecute the Fake Drug Scandal. Out of over 12,000 lawyers in Dallas County, David was selected because of the depth of his experience.

David's public service began as an Assistant D. A. under the legendary Henry Wade. In record time he was promoted to felony chief prosecutor, career criminal prosecutor and death penalty prosecutor. He continued public service as an Assistant United States Attorney in Dallas and Chief Assistant United States Attorney in Austin before he entered private practice. It was his experience that helped Special Prosecutor Dan Hagood do what the federal government with all of its resources couldn't do; get justice by convicting a dirty cop in the Fake Drug Scandal.

David has experience in County Criminal Court 3. When Henry Wade promoted him to Chief Misdemeanor Prosecutor, Mr. Wade told him to turn the court around. Court 3 was the worst performing court in the courthouse. By the time David was promoted to Felony prosecutor, Court 3 was one of the top two courts in the courthouse.

Born and raised in Texas, David is a graduate of the University of Texas. He went on to attend the Baylor School of Law where he was President of his mid law class and Student Bar Association President for the entire school. In David's senior year, the Baylor Law faculty selected him to receive the Abner V. McCall Outstanding Law Student award.

David is married to Diane, they have two sons, Austin and Will. They attend St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. David has been endorsed by, among others, Martha Weisend, Senator John Carona, Mike Gruber, Adam Ross, Dr. Tich Truong, and Dan Hagood. He was also endorsed by the Dallas Morning News in the Republican primary. The News said..."Mr. Lewis is the stronger, more seasoned candidate." David Lewis can win in November.
